Sicily is the southern Italian charter ground — Palermo, the Aeolian Islands (Lipari, Stromboli, Vulcano), and the Egadi archipelago west of Trapani. The Aeolian week is the headline trip: short hops between volcanoes, hot springs and seafood ports.
High season runs June through early September. Stromboli is best visited overnight when the lava glow is visible from the deck. Saturday-to-Saturday is standard; some Sicilian charters offer Sunday departures.
Catamarans and gulets dominate the Aeolian fleet; bareboat sailing yachts are easier to find around Palermo and Marsala. Skippered motor yachts run from Milazzo and Capo d'Orlando.
