Spanish charter is mostly Balearic — Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera — with a smaller mainland Catalan fleet out of Barcelona and the Costa Brava. The Balearics give you flat, warm water, short night passages between islands and reliable thermal wind in the afternoon.

Peak season is July to August (and the first week of September), when Ibiza and Formentera anchorages get busy and marinas need booking weeks ahead. June and late September feel like a different archipelago — same weather, half the boats. Most Balearic charters are Saturday to Saturday.

Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza Marina host the broadest fleet — sailboats, catamarans and motor yachts at every length. Bareboat is the most common option; crewed yachts are widely available for groups of 8 or more.
