The Ionian Sea — Lefkas, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Meganisi, Paxos — is the gentlest charter ground in Greece. Steady afternoon breeze (10–18 knots), short island hops (2–3 hours) and dozens of protected anchorages make it the most beginner-friendly Greek fleet.

Lefkas marina is the main embarkation. The season opens early (April) and runs through October. June and September are the sweet spot — warm sea, fewer charter boats in the Vathy and Kioni harbours.

The Ionian fleet leans catamaran — Lagoon and Fountaine Pajot models, mostly bareboat. Sailing yachts are common too; motor yachts are less typical in this region than further south.
