Family Yacht Charter Guide 2026: Best Mediterranean Destinations for Kids
Best Mediterranean family yacht charter destinations for 2026 — Croatia, Greece, Italy, Türkiye. Age recommendations, kid-friendly anchorages, costs.

Tucked in the Ionian Sea, Corfu is a gem of Greece with a mix of Venetian-inspired buildings, blue waves, and verdant surroundings. Greek called Kerkyra, this island draws seafarers looking for calm coves, energetic ports, and a rich cultural tapestry. Whether you’re a first-time charterer or a seasoned sailor, Corfu’s varied coastline—from the golden sands of Glyfada to the craggy cliffs of Paleokastritsa— offers an amazing journey.
When you design your Corfu sailing trip, timing is crucial. Here, the best time to lease a yacht is between May and October; peak season runs in July and August. The gentler Meltemi winds in these months guarantee more seamless sailing conditions than in the Aegean. Think about late spring (May-Jun) or early autumn (September-October) for less people and nice temperature. For a deeper dive into seasonal planning, explore our guide on the best time to charter a yacht in Greece.
Crafting the perfect route requires balancing exploration with relaxation. Below are must-visit destinations and hidden gems.

For most bareboat charters in the Mediterranean you need a recognised skipper certificate (RYA Day Skipper, ICC, or equivalent) plus a VHF licence. If you don’t hold one, we book a professional skipper alongside the boat for the week.
The base charter fee covers the boat, standard equipment, insurance, and final cleaning fee in most cases. Extras such as fuel, port fees, transit log, tourist tax and skipper service are billed separately and explained in the booking summary.
For peak weeks (mid-July to late August) we recommend booking 6–9 months ahead to lock in the boat and the early-bird discount. Shoulder seasons (May, June, September) usually have availability up to a month before departure.
